Today we will help you identify some basics about blood collection tubes that will let you find the variance in relevant medical products, their quality bands, sizes and variety etc.

These blood collection tubes or late tubes are covered with silicone and micronized silica particles to quicken coagulating. A silicone covering diminishes adherence of red cells to tube dividers.

The silica covering can in some cases cause the internal tube divider to seem overcast and/or cloudy. This shady appearance does not make the tubes unsatisfactory for utilization. Most Tubes are bundled 100 tubes/box and 1,000 tubes/case (10 cases).
The expiry date on the tube name is expressed as a month and year. The tubes terminate at the end of the month that is expressed on the name. Vacutainer blood collection tubes have a sterile inner part. Tubes are sanitized by gamma radiation.

These tubes are under a particular negative weight. Throughout the re-cleansing cycle this negative weight may be disturbed and consequently the tubes may not draw the best possible blood volume. In this manner, these tubes are sterile on the inside just. The maker does not suggest re-sanitizing the tubes with ethylene oxide or autoclave, because of weight changes that occur throughout the re-cleansing cycle.
